Okie, a lot of people needed help on their blog when they started, so yeah. xD That’s why I made this page. And its still UNDER CONSTRUCTION. I’m going to be putting stuff that people ask about WordPress here.

HOW TO ADD A MIXPOD INTO YOUR BLOG (AS A WIDGET):
A lot of people ask this question. :]

1. First, you need to go to http://mixpod.com and make an account.
2. After you make an account, click “Create Playlist”
3. Create your playlist and customize how it looks. When you’re done, save your playlist. Click the green button that says “Save (Get Code)”

4. You will then be in a page where it shows codes for websites like MySpace, Facebook, etc. Click the last option which says “Other Sites”.

5. In the center of the page, it will show more websites. Click “More”, the one with the arrow next to it.

6. Then look for the option thing that says “WordPress”. When you find it, click it.
7. Type in your username and password. When you are done, click “Post”. After you click “Post”, it will say “Item posted. Thank you.”
8. Exit the page and go to http://wordpress.com
9. Go to “Posts” .
10. Find the post called “(no title)”. That one is your MixPod playlist. Click “Edit” to edit it.
11. Click “HTML”.
12. Highlight the code in the box, right click with your mouse, then click “Copy”. The red box is where you click HTML.

13. After you copy the code, click the red words that say “Move to Trash“.
14.  You will be taken back to the “Posts” page. On the left, click “Appearance”.

15. You will be at a different page about themes. On the left, click “Widgets”.

16. When you are at the “Widgets” page, drag the “Text” widget onto your Sidebar.
17. Open your “Text” widget.
18. Right click with your mouse and click “Paste” to paste the MixPod code inside.
19. Click “Save”.

And you’re done. Mann I put a lot of steps. >.< Hopefully you get it. o.o

HOW TO PUT AN ICON PICTURE BESIDE YOUR BLOG URL:
Its like this:

To change that Internet Explorer icon:

1. Click “Settings” on the left.

2. You will be at the “General Settings” page. Click “Browse” to get a picture from your computer.
3. After you get a picture, click “Upload Image >>”

4. You can crop your picture, and then click “Crop Image”.

And you now have the picture beside the URL of your blog. (:

HOW TO ADD YOUTUBE VIDEOS INTO YOUR POST/PAGE:1. Go to a YouTube video and copy its URL.
2. Go to WordPress and go to a post or page. Or add a new one.
3. Next to “Upload/Insert”, click the second little icon thingy.

4. A smaller page will appear. Near the top of it, click “From URL”.

5. Paste the YouTube URL in the box.
6. Click “Insert into Post”.

You won’t see the video while you’re editing it, but when you Update or Publish it and look at it in your blog, you’ll see the video.

HOW TO ADD WORKERS:1. On the left, click “Users”.

2. You will be at another page, where you can add authors. Type in a user’s e-mail (that they used to make their blog with).

3. You can make their role Contributor, Admin, Author, or Editor. –

Administrator – Somebody who has access to all the administration features

Editor – Somebody who can publish posts, manage posts as well as manage other people’s posts, etc.

Author – Somebody who can publish and manage their own posts

Contributor – Somebody who can write and manage their posts but not publish postsWhen you’re doing typing their e-mail and choosing their role, click “Add User”.
Then you are done. ^^

HOW TO ADD PICTURES ON YOUR POST/PAGE:1. Next to Upload/Insert, click the first little icon thingy.

2. A little screen will come up. Inside the red box, it says “Select Files”. Click that if you want to get a picture from your computer. If you want it from a URL, click “From URL”, which is where the green box is.

The only files that are allowed are: jpg, jpeg, png, gif, doc, ppt, pdf, odt, pptx, docx
You know when you see pictures that sometimes have .JPG after them? Those are the file types. The ones that have those in the end are allowed.

3. After you choose a picture, you can edit it by giving it alternate text and changing its size. When you’re done, click “Insert into Post”.

And it will appear into your post. =D

HOW TO CHANGE THE COLOR OF YOUR TEXT:1. Click the “Kitchen Sink” button.

2. Another row of options should appear under it. Click the “Select Text Color” button and change it to any color you want. Or, you can type stuff out, highlight it, then change the color.

HOW TO ADD BLOGS TO YOUR BLOGROLL (And how to get a blogroll):

1. Go to your Widgets page, then add the “Links” Widget to your Sidebar.

2. On the left side of the page, click “Links”.

3. You will then be taken to another page. Click “Add New”.

4. Then you can add the name of the blog, the web adress, etc. When you’re done with all that, click “Add Link”, which is near the right side of the page. (:

HOW TO ADD A TAGLINE ONTO YOUR BLOG:
This is how to add the smaller text under your heading. (:

1. Click “Settings”, which is under “Tools”.

2. You will be taken to another page, the General Settings. There, you can edit the title of your blog and the tagline. And other stuff. xP

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR GRAVATAR:

1. When you’re at your Dashboard, on the left side, click “Users”.

2. You will be taken to the “Authors & Users” page. Look at the left again, and there will be more options under “Users”. Click “Your Profile”.

3. You will be at the “Profile” page. On the right is a square with a picture inside. Under the picture, you can click “Change Your Gravatar” to change it.

Just upload a picture, crop it, rate it, then you’re done.

HOW TO ADD A MEEBO ON YOUR BLOG:

1. First, on the left side of your page, click “Appearance”.

2. You will be taken to the “Themes” page. On the left again, click “Widgets”.

3. When you’re at the “Widgets” page, drag the “Meebo” widget to your sidebar.

4. Then, click the little arrow on the end of the Meebo thingy when its on your sidebar.
5. A description of what Meebo is will appear below the Meebo widget. Click “go get some HTML code”.

6. Make a Meebo, sign up (or log in if you have an account already), then your HTML code will be on your widget. Or you have to copy it and paste it in your widget. :]

HOW TO ADD A DROP-DOWN MENU ON YOUR BLOG:

K. Before you start, you need a theme that allows you add drop-down menus. Try iNove, Greyzed, Bueno, or Monochrome.

After you have one of those themes, follow these steps.

          1. Go to “Pages”. You will see all the pages you have created.
          2. Move your mouse under the page that you want to add in the drop-down menu, and click “Quick Edit”.

          3. You’ll see a bunch of info, like when it was created and its title name. Click the box thingy for “Parent”, and choose a page you want it to be under.

          4. After you’ve chosen a page, click the blue ”Update” button.
          5. Go to your blog and enjoy your new drop down menu.

Tada. Now repeat this again many times as you like with other pages. ^^

HOW TO ADD POLLS:

          1. Press the little mini arrow thingy to the left of “Polls” to open the options, then click “Add New”.

          2. Create your poll. Just follow the directions for creating it on that page. xP
          3. When you’re done, click “Save Poll”.
          4. Then go back to the “Polls” thingy and click it.

          5. You’ll see a list of the polls you have created. Move your mouse under the one you want to post, and then click “Share-Embed”.
          6. Copy the “WordPress Shortcode”.
          7. Paste it onto a new post, or a Text Widget and post/save it.

HOW TO ADD THE DO NOT PRESS BUTTON ONTO YOUR BLOG:
Due to popular demand of everyone wanting this special button on their blog, it is now a part of this page. xP

1. Save this picture into your computer.

 

2. Go to the “Add New Post” page.
3. Click the button to add the picture (next to Upload/Insert).
4. Open the picture from your computer, but don’t insert it into the post yet.
5. In the Link URL box, paste this link into it: http://www.85qm.de/up/BigRedButton.swf
6. Insert it into the post. If you want it just on the post, then you are done. If you want it also on the side of your blog as a widget, continue onto #7.

7. Go to the HTML section, and copy the code.
8. Go to your “Widgets” page.
9. Paste the code into a “Text” widget.
10. Save.
